Co50 is produced by precision casting and used as support blocks for plate-rolling heating furnaces. It offers excellent high-temperature performance (1000–1300°C), outstanding high-temperature oxidation resistance and wear resistance. As a support block for plate-rolling heating furnaces, this steel contains very high Ni and 3–5% W, giving it especially high high-temperature strength, oxidation resistance and carburizing resistance within 1000–1200°C, with excellent thermal-shock resistance.
Co20, Co40 and Co50 pads can effectively suppress top lamellar spalling of the pad, significantly reduce its height loss and extend its effective service life, thereby improving the billet heating quality and markedly reducing the 'black mark' temperature difference of the billet.
